Search Help
The basic search will search the game names by keyword. The advanced search will search both the name and the description. If you enter multiple words, the results returned will contain one or more of the words that you entered. You have many options for a more refined search if you know what you are looking for or want to find certain keyword combinations in the database.
Quotes will combine words in a phrase that must match, such as "space quest" to match only games that contain the entire phrase.
You may also mark words as required and you can exclude words. +space +quest will look for games with both space and quest, but those words do not have to be together like in the phrase search. space -quest will look for games with the word space, but that do not have the word quest.
You may also use a wildcard at the end of the search term to search for part of a word, for example, quest* will include quest, quests, questing, etc.
The search tool is not case sensitive and short and common words are ignored in searches unless they are in quotes. All punctuation in the search is ignored except for the above symbols that modify the search.
You can also filter directly in the search box with prefixes like year:1995, status:released, or free:1.
