Traitors Gate

No one has ever been able to pilfer the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London. Well, you're about to change that as you must break into the tower to steal it's precious cargo in this 1st person adventure game.

The plot centres around stopping a rogue Pentagon director who is planning to steal the jewels. As Special Agent Raven you must enter the Tower before he does and replace the Crown Jewels with a bugged replica set. This would be a simple task, but British intelligence has not been informed of your visit. You will have to break in without anyone noticing and leave again just as silently.

The format of the game is a 1st person adventure comprised of static 360-degree node clicking similar to Myst III, linked by animations with occasional cut-scenes. Gameplay is very open ended, the developers mapped the entire Tower in detail (though some of necessarily fictitious, such as the security setup) and you are given complete freedom to explore it in any way you wish. It spans 4 discs with each disc given to an area of the tower, requiring a fair amount of disc swapping as you progress.

To help you, you are given a PDA style device which allows access to a camera with e-mail system for communicating with base, and use of the various gadgets you acquire early in the game. It also helps keep track of time, an important factor in this game is that you only have about nine hours to play the game, which run in real time.
