A two-person team is sent into deep space for maintenance on an interplanetary probe. While checking the wiring inside a panel, the protagonist, only known as the commander, is attacked by a black substance. When he wakes again, he finds himself on the surface of a planet and his crew member Jacobs, who left some recordings on the intercom, missing.
Egress - The Test of STS-417 is a short, free 2D click-and-point adventure game. The player has to solve puzzles by combining items from their inventory with each other or the environment, and as such, find Jacobs and unravel why they are on this planet. The game has multiple endings, depending on the player's actions.
